Akad is a taaruf platform that helps Muslims in Indonesia meet for the purpose of marriage, the halal way. We take your privacy and the trust you place in us seriously. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Profile information — your name, age, city, profession, education, and the details you choose to share about your deen and preferences.
Identity documents (KYC) — an image of your KTP (national ID card) and a selfie, used only to verify that you are a real person and to keep Akad free of fake profiles.
Messages — the chat messages you exchange with matches during taaruf, including any wali participation.
Device information — basic technical data such as your device identifier, needed to secure your account and deliver notifications.

How we use your information

To create your profile and suggest compatible matches based on faith and preferences.
To verify your identity through KYC review by our team.
To enable taaruf conversations, including inviting your wali.
To keep the community safe — reviewing reports and preventing abuse or fraud.

Your KYC images are kept private

Your KTP image and verification selfie are never shown to other members. They are stored privately, accessible only to our verification team, and are permanently deleted when you delete your account.

We do not sell your data

Akad does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not run advertising. Your data is used only to operate the service described here.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. When you do, we permanently remove your profile, matches, chats, and your KYC ID and selfie images from our storage.

Compliance

We handle your personal data in accordance with Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (Undang-Undang Pelindungan Data Pribadi / UU PDP).
